CrossFit is “is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.”
So what does this mean? When you enter our gym there is a particular workout prescribed (you’ll often see this written as Rx’ed) for everybody that comes to class. Rather than having one workout for older women and another for hardcore athletes – there’s ONE workout each day that is COMPLETELY SCALABLE based on your background/experience/niggles etc. How does this work? So if a workout calls for snatches with 40kg, but you still struggle with these you can perform a lighter weight to ensure you still complete the workout achieving confidence and the energy system we are targeting in the session. As you gain more experience, and with it strength you’ll work your way towards completing more and more workouts as they are written on the board. On the other hand if you’re injured and can't perform a particular movement for that reason, we provide you with a similar movement which protects the injury and still gets close to the session outcomes.
